12: Siding

During the summer and fall of 1991 my friend Andy was a huge help.  Not only that, but he agreed to work for a reduce rate: I think I was only paying him $12/hr.  The going rate was $20+.

Since he was comfortable working up on the plank, and I was useless up there, I cut pieces of siding to length while he installed them.

The view from the alley.

We added sections of chimney and wrapped it in a chase as we went up.

The front of the house.  I made some really nice stairs out of redwood.

The view from across the street.
